About 14 people were arrested in Nagpur after a group of bikers allegedly attacked a traffic constable, wrecked his private car, and threatened to kill near Mankapur,
A video of the incident that took place on June 28 has now surfaced online.
The victim, Kunal Singh, who works with the MIDC traffic branch, was driving home when the crime took place.
The CCTV footage shows bike-borne men assaulting the 35-year-old police employee on a busy road in Nagpur.
The accused persons drag the officer out of his car and repeatedly punch and kick him, and continue the assault even after the man falls.
One of the accused kicks the man while others surround him.
The men then vandalised his car before fleeing the scene.
Police said that the officer was travelling towards Mankapur Square with a female friend when one of the motorcycles allegedly hit his private car from behind near the traffic signal. Some of the bikes were fitted with double moped axes and carried multiple pillion riders.
The bikers then block the car, form an unlawful assembly and begin abusing the officer
They had also allegedly issued death threats, pelted stones, smashed the rear windscreen and damaged the bonnet.
When the officer stepped out of the car to confront the men, they proceeded to assault him. He was left with injuries to his neck and back, as per a Times of India report.
The accused have been identified as Harsh Pawar, Gaurav Dhirde, Sanyam Ganeshpuri, Yash Prateki, Satyam Shirke, Premraj Dhakate, Akash Bokde, Nitin Gokhale, Vicky Telghare, Bhumi Dev alias Sagar Bokde, Ganesh Uike, Pritam Modekar and Tikaram Barapatre.
According to police, several of the men have prior criminal records. Five two-wheelers and property worth around Rs 5.60 lakh were also recovered. A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
