One more worker dies, SBL blast toll reaches 25 | Nagpur News
Nagpur: The death toll in the SBL Energy blast at Raulgaon in Katol taluka reached 25 after a 22-year-old woman succumbed to burn injuries at 9.45am on Sunday. The deceased, Jyoti Dhurve, had suffered about 65% burns in the explosion on March 1. She was undergoing treatment at Orange City Hospital and Research Institute (OCHRI). The powerful explosion at the factory had initially killed 18 on the spot. Later, seven workers died during treatment. A total of 19 injured women workers were admitted to OCHRI after the blast. Now, nine critically-injured women workers remain under treatment at the hospital. Family sources said Jyoti, originally from Talegaon, had been living in a rented room in Katol with her brother Ajay, aged 19, while pursuing their education. Their parents, Renuka and Shamu, worked as manual labourers in Talegaon. Jyoti left college after first year and joined SBL to support her brother’s education, said family sources.
