KTR dares rivals, offers to take drug test amid Moinabad drug row

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao, on Sunday, said he was willing to undergo a drug test at any time, as the political row over the Moinabad farmhouse drug party case intensified in Telangana. He also added that he was ready to face any challenge.Reacting to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud’s demand that public representatives be subjected to drug tests, KTR said the BRS has always condemned drug use and supports strict punishment for anyone found involved, irrespective of political affiliation. He said the party would back any govt decision aimed at making Telangana drug-free.At the same time, KTR warned against linking his name to drug-related allegations without proof. He said he would take legal action if his name was dragged into the controversy again for political purposes. While reiterating his readiness to face any test, he accused his rivals of running a smear campaign against him and said the BRS would not tolerate personal attacks.The Moinabad farmhouse drug party case, has triggered a political slugfest in the Telugu states. The alleged participation of businessmen, realtors and political figures in the event has drawn widespread attention. Former BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, TDP Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, and 11 others were reported to have attended the party. Rohit and six others allegedly tested positive for drugs, thereby deepening the political debate.
