Pharmacist suspended over ‘supply of expired medicines’ at Manugur Government Area Hospital

A pharmacist was suspended, while a nursing superintendent and a nursing officer of the Government Area Hospital at Manugur in Bhadradri Kothagudem district were served showcause notices for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with the recent allegedly supply of expired medicines to patients.

Taking a serious view of the incident, Collector Ankit ordered a detailed inquiry by District Coordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) Ravi Babu.

The disciplinary action was initiated based on the inquiry report, sources said.

In connection with the same incident, a senior nursing officer was transferred from the hospital to the Community Health Centre at Charla.

The district administration acted swiftly after the incident came to light, ordering an inquiry.
