Jharkhand T20 Cricket League: Royals and Titans win on day 2

Chota Nagpur Royals and Ranchi Titans recorded convincing victories on the second day of the Jharkhand T20 Cricket League 2026 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex on January 31.

The Royals secured a 10-wicket triumph using the DLS method in a rain-affected opening match, while the Titans defended a total of 227 runs to win by 42 runs.

In the rain-interrupted first game, Dhanbad Diamonds scored 63 for 2 in seven overs before heavy rain stopped play, according to a press release. Aryaman Sen remained unbeaten on 31 runs from 20 balls, with Aditya Singh also not out on 24 from 16 balls. For the Royals, Ritwik M Pathak (1/12) and Suprieyo Chakraborty (1/16) each took a wicket.

After the break, the Royals were set a revised DLS target of 65 runs from five overs. Openers Virat Singh (38* off 15 balls) and MD Nazim Siddiqui (23* off 11 balls) achieved the target in 4.2 overs without losing a wicket. Virat Singh was named player of the match.

In the second match, Ranchi Titans elected to bat and amassed 227 for 5. Openers Shikhar Mohan and Aryan Hudda put on 93 runs in 7.4 overs before Hudda was dismissed for 40 runs off 16 balls. Shikhar Mohan top-scored with 90 runs from 48 balls and was awarded player of the match, while Shrestha added 57 off 31 balls. Captain Rajandeep Singh contributed 21 runs from 12 balls towards the end of the innings.

Chasing 228, Santhal Strikers started positively with openers Vibhor Pandey (26) and Vivek Kumar (10), but were unable to sustain the required run rate. A resilient unbeaten 71-run seventh-wicket stand between Sumit Kumar (67) and Ravi Kumar Yadav kept their innings competitive. However, they finished on 185 for 6 in 20 overs.

Prince Anurag Murmu led the Ranchi Titans’ bowling with figures of 3 for 26, helping his side secure a 42-run victory.
