Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday assured the Muslim community that their welfare is a priority for the Congress govt and also underscored the need to be alert against forces sowing seeds of discord between communities.Participating in an Iftar hosted by the state govt at LB Stadium, the CM said the Congress govt is working with sincerity and commitment to take the state forward on the path of development with religious harmony.“We are all brothers and should live together in religious harmony. Together, we can develop Hyderabad, Telangana and the country. The Congress govt will extend all support for the Muslim community to develop. Ramzan is the holy month of spiritual purification. A war is taking place in West Asia. Pray for world peace and also for the success of the Congress govt to make Hyderabad and Telangana a model for the country on the development front,” Revanth said.Stating that the Congress govt is giving a lion’s share to Muslims in welfare schemes and appointments, Revanth listed the posts given to the community, which include Mohd Azharuddin as a minister, senior leader Shabbir Ali as a govt advisor, and eight corporation chairperson posts and DSP jobs to Indian cricketer Siraj and world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen. He also cited the establishment of Young India integrated school campuses and implementation of 4% reservation in education.The CM highlighted substantial allocation of funds to the community in every govt initiative.“This is your govt and I am your brother. The govt is seeking your blessings. Let us all stand united to take Telangana forward and develop the youngest state as number one in the country,” he said.Minorities welfare minister Mohammed Azharuddin, govt advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Muslim religious leaders, among others, attended the Iftar.
