4 Held with MD Drug Worth ₹9 Lakh

Nagpur: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking in the city, the Nagpur Police’s NDPS squad achieved a major breakthrough by arresting four persons with 65 grams of MD (Mephedrone) drug in the Narhari Nagar area under Ajni police station limits. Police seized contraband, mobile phones and two-wheelers collectively valued at around Rs 9 lakh during the operation.

According to police, the NDPS team was on patrol near Vastu Residency in Narhari Nagar when officers noticed four youths standing suspiciously near two Honda Activa scooters. Acting on suspicion, police conducted a search in the presence of panch witnesses and recovered 65 grams of MD Mephedrone powder from their possession.

The seized property includes the narcotic substance, four mobile phones, two Activa scooters and other materials, taking the total value of the seizure to approximately Rs 9 lakh.

The arrested accused have been identified as Piyush Malwande, Rahul Gorade, Arya Gorele and Manish Durve.

During preliminary investigation, police found that the main accused, Piyush Malwande, had allegedly purchased the MD drug from absconding accused Pratik Kinderle. The other three accused had reportedly come to obtain the narcotic substance from Malwande.

Investigators further revealed that all four arrested accused have criminal antecedents. Police records show that Malwande has previously been booked in cases related to murder and offences under the Arms Act. Rahul Gorade has a case registered against him under the NDPS Act, while Arya Gorele and Manish Durve are also reported to have been involved in offences related to assault and violations of the Arms Act.

A case has been registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Police have launched a search for the absconding accused, Pratik Kinderle, and further investigation is underway.

Following the operation, the arrested accused were handed over to Ajni Police Station for further legal action and investigation.
