Special fast-track court starts hearing paper leak cases | Nagpur News

Nagpur: A special fast-track court constituted exclusively for hearing cases related to paper leaks and malpractice in public examinations and recruitment processes has commenced functioning in the city, with 11 cases already filed before it. The court issued notices to respondents in all the matters, and regular hearings are expected to begin shortly.The special court was established following a notification issued by Bombay high court. Senior civil judge and additional chief judicial magistrate Gulshan Kolte has been appointed as the presiding judge.The court will exclusively try offences registered under Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, along with related offences under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act, 1982. It has been created to ensure speedy disposal of cases involving examination fraud, including question paper leaks, dummy candidates, impersonation, cheating through electronic devices, organised interference in examination processes and other recruitment-related irregularities.According to court officials, the establishment of the court is expected to accelerate the trial of examination malpractice cases from Vidarbha region, particularly those linked to Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), university examinations and state education board examinations.District GP Nitin Telgote confirmed that the court has become operational and that 11 cases have already been instituted. “The court has started functioning, and notices have been issued in all 11 cases. Regular hearings will commence shortly,” he said. TNN
