All government and private schools in Telangana will reopen on June 15 (Monday), instead of the earlier announced date of June 12 (Friday), the School Education Department communicated on Sunday (June 7, 2026).
“The government has received multiple representations from various stakeholders requesting a reconsideration of the school reopening date, considering that June 13 and 14 fall on a second Saturday and Sunday,” the order said, and clarified that all the schools will now reopen on June 15.
However, the second Saturday next month (July 11) will be treated as a regular working day for all the schools. This is to compensate for the loss of postponement of reopening and to adhere to the prescribed instructional days as per the 2026-27 academic calendar.
