Nagpur Police API Dies by Suicide in Government Quarter; Probe Underway

NAGPUR: A police department official in Nagpur died by suicide late Sunday night at a government quarter, triggering shock within the department. The deceased has been identified as Assistant Police Inspector (API) Jhol, who was posted in the Arj and PRO branch of the Nagpur Police Commissioner’s Office.
According to preliminary information, the incident took place between around midnight and 1 am at a PCMT government quarter. After receiving information about the incident, police officials reached the spot and initiated the required legal procedures.
Circumstances Behind Death Under Investigation
The sudden death of a serving police officer has raised questions about the circumstances that may have led to the extreme step. However, police have not yet established whether any personal, family-related or other factors were involved.
