Mumbai lake levels now stands at 90.96 per cent; three reservoir at maximum capacity

Mumbai’s seven lakes, which supply drinking water to the city, collectively held 13,16,578 million litres of water, or 90.96 per cent of their total live storage capacity, as of 6 am on Friday, August 14, according to the Hydraulic Engineer’s Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.   

The current stock now stands higher than the same period last year, when the reservoirs contained 12,93,607 million litres (89.38 per cent). However, the lake levels remained significantly lower than in 2024, when the lakes had 13,43,397 million litres, accounting for 92.82 per cent of the total live storage.
