MSEDCL commissions Nagpur’s first 4 MW solar park
MSEDCL, an India-based electricity distribution utility, has commissioned Nagpur district’s first 4 MW solar park. The facility was commissioned on July 16 at the Kachari Sawanga substation in Katol taluka, India. It will provide eight hours of uninterrupted daytime electricity to 1,074 farmers across nine villages. The park was developed under Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Feeder 2.0 scheme. MSEDCL provided the land through a 25-year lease and signed a PPA with the developer. The utility will procure electricity for less than INR 3 per kWh (~ $0.03). Officials estimated the 4 MW facility’s investment at around INR 10-12 crore (~ $1-1.2 million). Several similar parks are under development across Nagpur district for additional agricultural consumers.
