Katol orange centre still awaits Rs15 crore funds: Salil Deshmukh | Nagpur News
Nagpur: Nearly a year after the Bombay High Court directed transfer of the Katol orange processing centre to the Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corporation (MAIDC), the project is yet to receive 15 crore sought from the state for its revival, said son of former home minister Anil Deshmukh and NCP-SP neta Salil Deshmukh on Friday.Addressing a press conference, Deshmukh said the Mumbai bench of the high court had ordered the transfer of the project to MAIDC on July 1, 2025, following which it was formally handed over to the corporation on July 14, 2025. He said MAIDC subsequently submitted a proposal to the state seeking 15 crore for first phase of reviving the facility.Deshmukh said he has met CM Fadnavis, agriculture min Manikrao Kokate, the agriculture secretary on several occasions and submitted representations seeking release of the funds. However, the proposal is yet to receive govt approval, he added. TNN
