Crowning Glory: Nagpur’s 3 Scale NEET Peak 120 | Nagpur News
Nagpur: Despite the controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2006 ‘paper leak’ in May, three students from Nagpur remained focused and consistent with their studies for the retest held on June 21 and broke into the national top 120 rankings. Sagar Karikar topped the charts from the city with All India Rank (AIR) 67, followed by Saumya Badole (AIR 77) and Amir Varawalla (AIR 119).Sagar credited his success to a gruelling self-study routine. “There was a time when I consistently studied for 8 to 10 hours a day, and even during my classes, I dedicated at least four to six hours to self-study,” Sagar said, adding, “I always believed that no subject is truly difficult. Only certain topics may seem challenging until you understand them.”The rankings tell only a part of the story. “There were days of exhaustion and self-doubt, but I stayed consistent because I knew my goal was bigger than my struggles. This result is not just a score. It reflects months of discipline, sacrifice and belief in myself,” said Sagar while dedicating the achievement to his family.Amir, who put in longer hours, said the way he split his time mattered more than the count. “I used to study for around 12 to 13 hours a day while preparing for the examination. It wasn’t just about the number of hours, but how I managed them,” said Amir.“I gave equal time to every subject to cover all the bases, while keeping a slightly stronger focus on Biology.”For Amir, remaining consistent saw him through. “There were tough days when it felt overwhelming, but staying consistent made all the difference. I believe it’s not about studying everything at once, but improving a little every day,” said Amir.Saumya traced the goal to his childhood. “My interest in the medical field began at a very young age, and that dream kept me going even during the most challenging days of preparation,” said Saumya.“I studied for nearly 13 to 15 hours every day, staying completely focused on my goal. Biology has always been my favourite subject, but I made sure to give equal importance to every subject because success requires a balanced approach,” Saumya said.Dedicated the result to parents, Saumya stressed, “It is their success as much as mine.”(With inputs from Aishwarya Moroney, Bhavya Badjate & Sneha Singh)
