Nagpur: The second day of the U-7 National Chess Championship belonged to the unrated prodigies. While the top two seeded masters in both the open and girls group kept their slate clean by winning all four rounds, unrated players, including Gujarat’s Naksh Somani, Shivansh Gowda of Karnataka, Punjab’s Myra Rathore, Sreeja Ghanekar from Goa and Tamil Nadu’s Alankrithaashri D, made their mark with stunning victories on Wednesday.At the end of the fourth round, 12 players in the open section and eight girls shared the top position, collecting four points each.The biggest upset in the open group was recorded by Tamil Nadu ‘s Kridhay A.
