Nagpur, Jun 28 (PTI) A nine-year-old girl was killed and another minor was seriously injured after a speeding car hit them while they were crossing a road in Nagpur district on Sunday, police said.
The driver of the vehicle sped away after the accident at Wahitola village near Ramtek, around 50 km from here, they said.
Kavya Sanjay Ankar (9) lost her life due to the impact, while 12-year-old Prarthana Ajay Kathote, who suffered grievous injuries, is being treated at the Ramtek Sub-District Hospital, said police.
The girls were returning home after buying groceries when a red car, travelling from Ramtek towards Mansar, hit them and fled the scene.
Police have registered a case and launched a search to trace the car and the driver. PTI COR NR
