Worker electrocuted during powerline maintenance near Kandlakoya


A 46-year-old labourer died after suffering an electric shock and falling from a tree while assisting with maintenance work on a 33-KV power line near Kandlakoya on Wednesday evening, June 24. The deceased was identified as Korra Jagram, a resident of Singareni Colony in Saidabad.

The incident was reported near Sai Geetha Ashram, where Electricity Department personnel were carrying out maintenance work on a 33-KV power line. According to the police, Korra Jagram had climbed a tree to remove branches obstructing the power line when he came into contact with the wire.

He suffered an electric shock and fell from the tree. He sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.

He is survived by his wife, Manga, two sons and a daughter. Police said he worked as a labourer and was the family’s primary breadwinner.

The Petbasheerabad police registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
