Woman held for running prostitution racket from home in Trimurti Nagar, Nagpur

Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit-1 of Nagpur Police has busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a rented house in Trimurti Nagar and arrested a 60-year-old woman accused of exploiting women for financial gain.
The raid was conducted on Wednesday between 8.15 am and 8.50 am at Bhagyashree Layout, Trimurti Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar Police Station, following specific intelligence inputs about illegal prostitution activities.
During the raid, police allegedly found Minakshi Arun Marchettiwar (60) operating the racket from her residence. According to investigators, she was allegedly luring women with the promise of money and providing them with accommodation and customers for prostitution.
Two women were rescued during the operation.
Police seized Rs 2,730 in cash, a mobile phone and other articles collectively valued at approximately Rs 12,880.
A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
The accused woman, the rescued victims and the seized property have been handed over to Pratap Nagar Police for further legal proceedings. Investigation into the case is ongoing.
