Wakad man killed after SUV rams into tempo inside Missing Link tunnel; four others injured

A young entrepreneur from Wakad in Pimpri-Chinchwad was killed in a horrific road accident inside the ‘Missing Link’ tunnel on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway in the early hours of Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Tushar Bhumkar, a resident of the Bhumkar Chowk area in Wakad. The accident occurred at around 1.30 am when the Fortuner SUV (MH 14 MG 0007) travelling from Pune towards Mumbai rammed into a goods tempo carrying vegetables (MH 01 CR 7075) from behind inside the nearly 9-km-long Missing Link tunnel.
