Six girl students of Adavimallela Gurukul bitten by rats, treated at PHC in Khammam district

Six students of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential (Gurukul) School and College for Girls at Adavimallela village in Penuballi mandal were reportedly bitten by rats at their hostel on Monday night.

They were treated at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Lankasagar on Tuesday.

The incident reportedly occurred while the students were asleep at their hostel, which is located close to an agricultural field, sources said.

The incident prompted parents to demand urgent measures to control the rat menace and ensure better sanitation at the hostel.

Officials concerned visited the gurukul on Wednesday and reviewed the situation. They also discussed measures to improve sanitation and control the rat menace.
