Review Meeting on Sanitation Workers’ Issues; Orders for Quick Resolution of Pending Cases

Nagpur: A review meeting regarding various issues faced by sanitation workers was held on Wednesday at the Commissioner’s Conference Hall of the Municipal Corporation headquarters. Mayor Neeta Thakre directed the administration to resolve the pending problems of sanitation workers of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Maharashtra State Safai Kamgar Welfare Board Chairman Satish Dagor, Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed, Standing Committee Chairperson Shivani Dani-Vakhare, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin, along with other officials, employees, and sanitation worker representatives.
During the meeting, Welfare Board Chairman Satish Dagor urged the Mayor to effectively implement the recommendations of the Lad-Page Committee. He also appealed for positive steps to resolve pending, rejected, and compensation-related cases of sanitation workers dating back to 1975.
Additionally, he suggested organizing special camps at zonal levels or municipal schools to provide information about government schemes to the children of sanitation workers.
Mayor Neeta Thakre assured that all pending issues of sanitation workers would be resolved promptly. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin also instructed officials to address the problems on a priority basis.
