“Nishchaydin” – Health Awareness and Social Awareness Programme

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Nagpur Branch, in association with the Dr. Satish Kadam Family, successfully organized “Nishchaydin”, a health and social awareness programme, on Sunday, 2nd August 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. through an online platform.
This year marked the 15th edition of Nishchaydin, an initiative dedicated to creating awareness on important health-related issues through expert lectures and discussions, organized by Dr. Satish Kadam & his family.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sachin Gathe, President, IMA Nagpur Branch.
The inaugural session began with an informative talk by Dr. Anjali Bhandarkar, Honorary Secretary, IMA Nagpur Branch, on the importance of Organ Donation.
This was followed by a detailed presentation on Body Donation by Dr. Bharat Sontakke, Professor, AIIMS Nagpur.
Mr. Shirish Darvekar, Trustee of Madhav Netrapedhi, spoke on the significance of Eye Donation and the need for greater public awareness on the subject.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Ashish Satav, Founder of Mahan Trust, Melghat, interacted with Dr. Anjali Bhandarkar in a discussion focusing on the healthcare challenges faced by tribal communities in Melghat, healthcare delivery in remote areas, and his remarkable contribution to tribal healthcare services.
The programme organizer, Dr. Satish Kadam, delivered an enlightening session on “Lifestyle Medicine – Prevention and Reversal of Diseases,” highlighting the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent and reverse lifestyle-related illnesses.
Thereafter, Dr. Deepti Dongaonkar, Former Dean of Government Medical College, Nagpur, delivered an insightful lecture on “Why and How We Neglect Our Own Health?”
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which the panel of experts addressed a wide range of health-related queries raised by participants attending online.
The programme received an overwhelming response from participants and served as an effective platform for spreading awareness on vital issues such as organ donation, body donation, eye donation, preventive healthcare, and healthy lifestyle practices.
