Nearly ₹1,000 hike in commercial cylinder price is a harsh blow to cafes, hotels and street side vendors: Uttam

Criticizing the Centre for the hike in prices of 19kg commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder, Telangana Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that this would have a harsh impact on hotels, restaurants, cafes and streetside vendors.

He said that the price now is over ₹3,000. As per the revised prices, effective from Friday (May 1, 2026), a 19 kg commercial cylinder price was increased by almost ₹1,000 per refill. With this, the new price is ₹3,315, against the previous ₹2,321 per commercial cylinder, an increase of ₹994.
