Speaking at the event, Gadkari said the project would strengthen Nagpur’s emergence as a national logistics centre. Fadnavis noted the city’s growing demand for such infrastructure, stating that Nagpur would require at least 20 more logistics parks, with existing facilities reaching full capacity as soon as they are opened.
Emphasising Nagpur’s strategic advantage, Gadkari described the city as the country’s “Zero Mile” and a natural destination for logistics investments due to its central position within the Delhi–Mumbai–Chennai–Kolkata quadrilateral. He said this geographic edge is drawing major companies to set up logistics operations in the region.
On costs, Gadkari highlighted that India’s logistics expenses currently stand at around 16% of GDP, compared to 8% in China and about 12% in Europe. Referring to a joint study by leading institutions, he said costs have already declined significantly and expressed confidence that India is approaching global benchmarks, aided by highway expansion and improved fuel efficiency.

He also urged developers to incorporate solar-powered fast electric vehicle charging stations within the park to improve sustainability and operational efficiency.
Fadnavis said the state’s new mega logistics policy, aligned with the Centre’s Gati Shakti initiative, places Nagpur at the core of future logistics growth. He stressed that reducing logistics costs is critical for enhancing the competitiveness of India’s manufacturing sector and capturing shifting global supply chains.
He added that the policy has received strong investor interest, with businesses already committing to new projects across the state.
Looking ahead, Fadnavis pointed to the upcoming Vadhvan Port in the Konkan region, which is expected to be significantly larger than JNPT and operational by 2028–29. Once completed, it will connect Nagpur to a major international port within eight hours.
Representatives of Godam Logistics Park said the facility is designed as more than just a warehousing cluster, positioning itself as a key node in the supply chain ecosystem. They credited supportive policies, including the Integrated Logistics Policy and the single-window clearance system, for enabling faster execution and fostering industrial growth in Maharashtra.
