Mumbai crime: Former bank manager arrested for stealing Rs 81.80 lakh gold from NRI’s locker

The Kandivali Police in Mumbai have arrested a 35-year-old former bank deputy branch manager for allegedly stealing 610 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs 81.80 lakh from an Non-Resident Indian (NRI) senior citizen’s bank locker. The police solved the case within four days of receiving the complaint and recovered the entire stolen property.
The incident came to light on August 12, when 74-year-old Pradeep Motiram Bhatia, a retired Dubai resident, lodged a complaint at Kandivali Police Station.
