Minor girl confined, burned with cigarettes

Nagpur: A 16-year-old Class VIII student was allegedly confined and burned with cigarettes, leading to registration of an offence against a youngster and four of his relatives at Yashodhara Nagar police station. The 18-year-old accused is reportedly absconding.The survivor, a 16-year-old Class VIII student, is a resident of an area under Mankapur police station limits. She was allegedly trapped in a love affair by the accused, Naushad Ali Niyaz Ali.In January, Naushad took the girl away. Mankapur police registered a kidnapping case, rescued the girl and placed her in a child care home at Kalmeshwar.Recently, the survivor’s brother learnt she was being held at Naushad’s house in Nizamuddin Colony. He allegedly found her injured. The girl allegedly told her brother that Naushad suspected her, beat her, burned her with lit cigarettes and held her captive. His relatives too allegedly threatened her, said police who have registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act and other relevant sections.The other accused are Naushad’s mother Shahista Begum (45), father Niyaz Ali (47), brother Shahrukh Ali (23) and Ruby Parveen (18).
