Bengaluru: Manipal Hospitals is set to add 100 additional beds to its portfolio with the acquisition of Kinder Women’s Hospital in Bengaluru, it announced on Tuesday.

The healthcare major said it has signed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) with Kindorama Healthcare Private Limited for acquiring the entire operations of Kinder Women’s Hospital, located in Doddanekundi in the Whitefield region of Bengaluru in Karnataka.

The all cash deal priced at Rs 130 crore, includes the entire business operations and assets of Kinder Hospital but excludes the acquisition of shares.

Owned by Kindorama Healthcare Private Limited, the hospital was commissioned in 2022 and has a current capacity of 100 beds.

According to Manipal, the acquisition will further expand its established healthcare presence in the Whitefield micro-market, where it already operates larger hospitals

The move takes Manipal’s pan India capacity to over 13,500 licensed beds and is in line with its long-term strategy to add an additional 2,426 beds in over 14 states in the country by FY30.

The group’s $960 million IPO was ‌India’s second-largest this year, behind SBI Funds Management’s listing in July.

Dilip Jose, Managing Director & CEO, Manipal Health Enterprises, said, “The acquisition of Kinder Women’s Hospital strengthens our presence in Bengaluru’s fast-growing Whitefield micro-market and complements our existing healthcare ecosystem in the region. We remain committed to building on our clinical expertise and capabilities to deliver high-quality, patient-centric care to the communities we serve.”
