Khasdar Krida Mahotsav Handball Tournament from June 4


Under the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, a city-level Handball Tournament will be organised from June 4 to 6 at the Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur.

The tournament will feature competitions in four categories — senior men, senior women, Under-17 boys, and Under-17 girls — with teams from across Nagpur city expected to participate. Adding to the excitement, all matches will be played under floodlights during evening sessions, promising an engaging experience for handball enthusiasts. One court has been prepared for the tournament, and the matches will be conducted under the supervision of qualified technical officials from the city.

Teams from various sports clubs, the Nagpur City Police Department, schools, and colleges are likely to take part in the competition.

Tournament observer Atmaram Pandey, chief referee Shailesh Yadav, and technical committee head Milind Makade are overseeing the smooth conduct of the event. Ground arrangements are being managed under the guidance of Pawan Meshram, Kapil Tipte, and Bhushan Ingle.

Satish Wade, co-convener of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav and head of the handball tournament, said that Amateur Handball Association president Roopkumar Naidu, along with Pankaj Kothari, Indrajitsingh Randhawa, and other office-bearers, are playing an important role in ensuring the successful organisation of the event.

Attractive Prize Money

In the senior men’s and women’s categories, the winning teams will receive cash prizes of Rs 35,000 each along with trophies and medals. The runners-up will be awarded Rs 30,000, while the third-placed teams will get Rs 25,000 along with trophies and medals. Special awards for best goalkeeper and best shooter in both senior categories will carry cash prizes of Rs 3,500 each, while the best male and female player awards will include Rs 4,000 each.

In the Under-17 boys’ and girls’ categories, the winning teams will receive Rs 25,000, runners-up Rs 20,000, and third-placed teams Rs 15,000 along with trophies and medals. The best goalkeeper and best shooter awards in these categories will carry cash prizes of R 2,000 each, while the best player award will include Rs 2,500.
