Honda Showroom Employees Accused of Rs 52 Lakh Fraud

Nagpur: A major fraud case has surfaced under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj Police Station in Nagpur, where employees of a reputed automobile showroom have been accused of cheating customers of more than Rs 52 lakh by allegedly promising vehicles at discounted prices and then disappearing after collecting the money.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged scam.
According to police, the incident is linked to the Muscat Honda showroom located on CA Road in Nagpur. Investigators said showroom employees allegedly hatched a well-planned conspiracy to lure customers by offering new vehicles at rates lower than market prices.
The accused allegedly convinced several people, including complainant Rajdeep Rajendra Khobragade, that they could arrange cars at special discounted prices through internal dealership benefits and offers.
Believing the assurances, the complainant and several others reportedly transferred large amounts online into the accounts of the accused. Police said a total amount of nearly Rs 52.91 lakh was collected from multiple victims.
However, after receiving the money, the accused allegedly neither delivered the vehicles nor returned the payments, leaving customers shocked and financially duped.
Based on the complaint, Lakadganj Police have registered offences under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against five accused identified as Shweta Chichghare, Avinash Kadu, Pranay Dhakate, Ghanshyam Chichghare and Chetan Gathibande.
Police officials said the investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent of the fraud and identify whether more customers were similarly cheated in the alleged racket.
Further probe is in progress.
