CBI Raids in NEET Paper Leak Case Shock Vidarbha

Nagpur — The shocking threads of the NEET paper leak scandal, which allegedly played with the future of lakhs of students across the country, have now reportedly reached Vidarbha. The emergence of a possible “Nagpur connection” in the high-profile case has triggered an intensified investigation by central agencies.
On Monday, a special team of the CBI from Delhi conducted simultaneous raids in Nagpur and Chandrapur, carrying out searches at the residences of suspected students. The action has sent shockwaves across the educational sector.
According to sources, CBI officials arrived early in the morning at the homes of two students in Nagpur. For several hours, the team conducted closed-door questioning, scanned mobile data, and carried out detailed digital investigations. Later, the investigators moved to Chandrapur, where another suspected candidate’s residence was thoroughly searched.
During the raids, officials examined mobile phones, laptops, online transaction records, chat histories, and other digital evidence. Several important electronic devices were reportedly seized by the CBI.
Investigators are now focusing on the contact networks of these students. The probe is aimed at uncovering whether they had links with the paper leak racket, coaching lobbies, middlemen, or solver gangs. Sources claim that digital evidence recovered from Nagpur has provided crucial leads to the investigation.
Notably, suspicious chats, financial transactions, and secret communications that allegedly took place before the examination have further strengthened the agency’s suspicion. The digital evidence seized from Nagpur has reportedly been sent to Delhi for forensic analysis, and officials believe that several prominent names could emerge in the coming days.
Meanwhile, family members and close associates of the concerned students were also questioned. Although no arrests have been made so far, the scope of the investigation is expected to widen significantly.
Nagpur’s name has surfaced in several medical entrance exam scandals in the past as well. From the 2015 AIPMT scam to the 2021 NEET fraud cases, networks operating from Vidarbha have repeatedly come under scrutiny. The latest developments have once again raised serious concerns over the alleged shadow of the “education mafia” looming over Nagpur.
