Bring perpetrators to book in weaver’s death: KTR
BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K T Rama Rao on Wednesday demanded a thorough and impartial inquiry into the death of weaver Vengala Venkatesham of Sircilla town.
He alleged that local Congress leaders were behind the incident and urged the authorities to identify the actual perpetrators and bring them to book.
Mr. Rao visited the bereaved family in Sircilla on Wednesday and consoled the deceased’s mother, wife and 11-year-old daughter. He assured them his support until they get justice.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Rao alleged that Congress leaders were indulging in “politics of murder” for political gains.
Referring to alleged attempts to portray the incident as a suicide, Mr. Rao sought an impartial inquiry to ensure justice for the bereaved family.
He announced that he would bear the educational expenses of Venkatesham’s daughter until she completed Class X. Meanwhile, BRS sources said ₹3 lakh had been deposited in the girl’s name and interim financial assistance provided to the family.
