Divorce Dispute Turns Deadly in Nagpur, Wife’s Friend Murdered
A sensational murder case allegedly driven by suspicion, strained relations, and mounting anger has shocked the city. A man is accused of murdering a loan agent over suspicions that he shared a close relationship with his wife. The Crime Branch has cracked the case and arrested two accused in connection with the killing.
According to police, accused Umang Dadve, along with his associate Sandesh Bhosale, allegedly murdered Ajay Shrivas in Nagpur. Investigators said Ajay was reportedly a college friend of the accused’s wife, and the two remained in regular contact, which allegedly triggered the husband’s suspicions.
Police revealed that mistrust and frequent domestic disputes had strained the couple’s relationship for a long time. Following an argument after their son’s birthday celebration, the wife allegedly left for her parental home and later filed a complaint against her husband. Officials said the accused became increasingly furious after receiving a divorce notice.
Investigators further claimed that the husband’s suspicions intensified after he allegedly discovered an extra SIM card used by his wife and noticed frequent communication between her and Ajay. Police said the accused then kept the victim under surveillance before allegedly executing a planned attack. He is accused of entering Ajay’s flat and fatally assaulting him with a sharp weapon.
After the murder, both accused reportedly fled the scene calmly. However, acting on technical evidence and confidential inputs, Crime Branch Unit-2 tracked down and arrested the duo. Further investigation is underway at Gittikhadan Police Station.
The incident has once again highlighted how suspicion and uncontrolled anger in personal relationships can spiral into deadly violence.
