Mahavitaran Announces Scheduled Power Shutdown in Parts of Nagpur on May 13


In a bid to strengthen and ensure safe and uninterrupted electricity supply across the city, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (Mahavitaran) will carry out a major maintenance and repair drive on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Due to these essential technical works, power supply in several parts of Nagpur will remain temporarily suspended for a few hours during the morning.

According to Mahavitaran, the maintenance work has been scheduled during early hours to minimise inconvenience to consumers. Under the Congress Nagar division, power supply will remain affected from 7 am to 11 am in areas including Shankar Nagar, Bajaj Nagar, NIT Building, Girepeth, Gorepeth, Dharampeth, Karve Nagar, Ujwal Nagar, Pawanbhumi, Paryavaran Nagar, Shriram Nagar, Cosmopolitan, Nelco Society, Sumit Nagar, Adhyapak Layout, Azad Hind Nagar, Takli Sim Water Tank area, Adivasi Layout, LIG-MIG Colony, Surve Nagar, Sangharsh Nagar, Jaitala, Zade Layout, Pradhan Nagar, Shivpriya and Ramabai Apartments, Ambedkar Layout, Kabir Nagar, Ekatmata Nagar, Dongre Layout, Abhijeet Society, Pooja Layout, Dadaji Nagar, Wankhede Layout, Rahi Colony and Orbital Empire.

Power supply will also remain disrupted from 8 am to 10:30 am in Dagdi Park, Basketball Ground area, New Ramdaspeth, Anand Talkies, Kumbhartoli, Dhanashree Apartment and Platina Hospital surroundings. Similarly, from 8 am to 11 am, power supply will remain affected in Khamla Old Basti, Sindhi Colony, Milind Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Railway Colony, Venkatesh Nagar, Kotwal Nagar, Shanti Niketan and Shiv Nagar, while Lakshmi Nagar area will face interruption from 9 am to 10 am.

Under the Civil Lines division, power supply will remain suspended from 8 am to 11 am in New and Old Mankapur, Faras Chowk, Dhaneshwar Society, Welcome Society and Koradi Road areas. In the Gandhibagh division, areas including Lal Imli Chowk, Golibar Chowk, Ganjakhet, Khadan, Chhoti Khadan, Nandbaji and Devghar Mohalla will remain without power from 7 am to 11 am.

In the Mahal division, power supply will remain affected from 8 am to 9 am in Ishwar Nagar, Sahakar Nagar, Vijayalakshmi Pandit Nagar and Hasanbagh Chowk.

Meanwhile, under the Butibori division, electricity supply will remain suspended from 7 am to 11 am in areas under Vico Alpha, Nildoh and April Park substations, including the ‘A’ Zone Phase-2 area.
Mahavitaran stated that the pre-monsoon maintenance work is crucial to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply during the upcoming rainy season and appealed to citizens for their cooperation during the scheduled shutdown.
