Governor and Union Minister Gadkari launches a tree plantation drive by planting a sapling at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University

Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of state universities Jishnu Dev Varma today launched a tree plantation drive by planting a sapling at the Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative building complex of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and other dignitaries also planted saplings. The Government of India has taken a decision to plant 25 lakh trees in Nagpur district with the objective of tackling the challenges posed by climate change. Minister of State for School Education Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, Mayor of Nagpur Nita Thackeray, MLA Mohan Mate, MLA Praveen Datke, Deputy Mayor Leelatai Hathibed, Vice Chancellor of RTMNU Dr. Manali Kshirsagar, Pro-VC Dr. Akhilesh Peshwa, Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Naranware, Standing Committee Chairman of the Municipal Corporation Shivani Dani, were among those present.
