Dr Y G Kale installed as President of MEAI, Nagpur chapter for 2026-28 term

Dr Y G Kale, Chief Controller of Mines, Indian Buerau of Mines (IBM) was installed as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Nagpur chapter of the Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI) at an installation ceremony held as part of the annual general body meeting (AGM) held at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, on Sunday.
D N Bhargava, and C S Gundewar, former Controller Generals, IBM were present as guest of honour for the programme. The election proceedings were conducted by S K Adhikari, Chief Mining Geologist, IBM, who also served as Returning Officer during election process of new executive committee for the term 2026-28.
The new executive committee also include Rajesh Bhattacharya, Chief General Manager, MOIL, as Vice Chairman; G Ram, Deputy Controller of Mines and OIC, IBM, as Secretary; Arun Chachane, Assistant Controller of Mines, IBM, as Joint Secretary; and A D Selokar, Mineral Economist (I), IBM, as Treasurer.

 

The team also include Dr Y B Katapatal, Dr Anand Sangode, Subhashish Bose, Prashant Lokhande, and B K Shukla as executive members.
The committee also nominated C S Gundewar, H R Kalihari, and Dr I L Muthreja, as Special Invitees for the committee. R C Sanodia, the immediate Past Vice Chairman will serve as the Ex-Officio Member of the Committee.
Dr Y G Kale, in his address expressed confidence that MEAI will conntinue to contribute constructively to the development of mining sector and policy formation. G Ram, also addressed the gathering.
Sakshi Gupta, Assistant Mining Engineer; and Atul Brice, Junior Mining Geologist, compered the programme, while G Ram proposed a vote of thanks.
