Jharkhand T20 League starts June 10 with Royals and Titans match

The inaugural season of the Jharkhand T20 League will commence on June 10 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, featuring a match between the Virat Singh-led Chota Nagpur Royals and Rajandeep Singh’s Ranchi Titans.

The opening match will be followed by the league’s opening ceremony, which will be attended by MS Dhoni, a celebrated cricketer from Jharkhand and one of India’s most internationally respected players, according to a statement.

The day’s second match will see the Koylanchal Super Kings, captained by Utkarsh Singh, compete against the Jamshedpur Steelers, led by Kumar Deobrat. The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), in partnership with AV24 Sports Private Limited, has announced fixtures for all 27 matches to be played at the Ranchi venue, including two semi-finals and the final.

Six franchises – Ranchi Titans, Jamshedpur Steelers, Chota Nagpur Royals, Koylanchal Super Kings, Dhanbad Diamonds and Santhal Strikers – will compete for the inaugural Jharkhand T20 League trophy.

Ajay Nath Shah Deo, President of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, said: “This league marks a significant milestone in Jharkhand cricket. We are excited to witness the best talent from the state compete at a professional level and inspire the next generation of cricketers and wish all the teams and the cricketers the best of luck.”

Sanjay Pandey, Vice President of the JSCA, added: “The response from players, franchises and supporters has already been phenomenal. We are confident that the inaugural edition will set a strong benchmark for the future.”

Saurabh Tiwary, Honorary Secretary of the JSCA, said: “The Jharkhand T20 League will create immense opportunities for young players to showcase their abilities alongside experienced campaigners. We look forward to an exciting season ahead.”
