Maharashtra NEET UG counselling: Government MBBS seats closed below AIR 20,000, while BDS and BAMS admissions extended beyond AIR 3 lakh.

Maharashtra NEET UG cutoffs have highlighted the sharp difference between government and private medical admissions, with MBBS seats in Government Medical College closing at AIR 16,230, while BDS and BAMS admissions extended to significantly lower ranks across several colleges.

According to the data, government medical colleges in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur recorded some of the lowest closing ranks for MBBS admissions. Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital closed at AIR 1,361, BJ Government Medical College at AIR 3,164, and Government Medical College at AIR 16,230.

In comparison, several BDS and BAMS institutes admitted students at much higher ranks, with BDS admissions extending up to AIR 3,57,229 and BAMS admissions reaching AIR 2,95,796 in the final counselling rounds.

The Maharashtra NEET cutoff data also indicates that candidates with relatively lower NEET UG ranks were able to secure seats in BDS and BAMS programmes in Maharashtra colleges.

In BDS admissions, some dental colleges closed admissions beyond AIR 3 lakh, whereas BAMS colleges admitted candidates up to AIR 2.95 lakh in certain institutes.

The trend suggests that while MBBS government seats continue to remain highly sought-after, allied medical courses such as BDS and BAMS offer opportunities for students with lower NEET UG scores in Maharashtra.
