What is causing repeated thunderstorms in Telangana? IMD points to opposing winds
Over the past week or so, Telangana has experienced recurring thunderstorms across several districts, including light to moderate rain in Hyderabad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes this to atmospheric disturbances caused by opposing wind systems and says the pattern is likely to continue till the end of May or early June, with a mix of high temperatures and periodic thunderstorms expected.
The IMD has forecast thunderstorms across multiple parts of the State between March 25 and March 30, with intermittent activity expected to occur during this period. According to officials, such spells are typical of the pre-monsoon season and are often accompanied by gusty winds.
