Tadoba Safari Timings Changed: New Summer Schedule Announced Amid Heatwave Concerns
Nagpur: If you’re planning a wildlife trip to Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve this April, there’s an important update you shouldn’t miss. Due to rising temperatures and early signs of a heatwave, authorities have revised safari timings to ensure visitor safety and comfort.
The new schedule, effective from April, shifts safari hours to avoid peak afternoon heat. Morning safaris will now run from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, while afternoon safaris are scheduled from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Full-day safaris will operate between 5:45 AM and 7:15 PM.
This change comes earlier than usual, as the Chandrapur district region has already started experiencing intense summer conditions. Typically, such adjustments are made from May, but this year’s rising temperatures prompted early action.
Officials say the move is aimed at minimizing heat exposure for tourists, especially since safaris are conducted in open jeeps. At the same time, summer remains one of the best seasons for tiger sightings, as wildlife frequently gathers near water sources.
New Safari Timings (From April)
- Full Day Safari: 5:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Morning Safari: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- Afternoon Safari: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Earlier Changes (Feb–March)
- Full Day: 6:15 AM – 6:15 PM
- Morning: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Afternoon: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
What It Means for Tourists
- Better chances of tiger sightings near water bodies during summer
- Reduced exposure to extreme afternoon heat
- Improved overall safari experience for visitors
Local guides, drivers, and tourism professionals have backed the move, saying it will help both tourists and workers cope better with the harsh summer conditions.
