Sharad Pawar Visits Nagpur to Pay Tribute to Late Datta Meghe

Nagpur: Sharad Pawar, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), arrived in Nagpur on Tuesday to pay tribute to former MP and senior leader Datta Meghe. After landing at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Pawar went directly to Meghe’s residence in Khamla, where he offered floral tributes to the late leader.
During his visit, Pawar met the bereaved family members, including Meghe’s sons Sagar Meghe and MLA Sameer Meghe, and conveyed his condolences. He spent around 25 minutes interacting with the family and recalling his long association with the late leader. Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was also present during the visit.
Senior BJP leader and former minister Datta Meghe passed away on Sunday at the age of 89 at his residence in Nagpur. His last rites were performed on Monday at his native village Pawna. Several dignitaries, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, attended the funeral.
Speaking to reporters, Pawar said his primary purpose of visiting Nagpur was to pay tribute to a great individual who had shown him immense affection and warmth during his visits to the city. He added that the work done by Datta Meghe would always be remembered and future generations would continue to honor his legacy.
