Nagpur to Host Grand Ram Navami Procession; Traffic Diversions and No-Parking from 3 PM
Nagpur: On the occasion of Ram Navami, a grand religious procession will be आयोजित in the Ramnagar area of Nagpur on March 26, 2026, at 5:30 PM. The event is being organized by the West Nagpur Citizens Association, and a large turnout of devotees is expected, likely impacting traffic across key parts of the city.
The procession will begin at Shri Ram Temple, Ramnagar, and pass through major routes including Laxmibhavan Square, Cafe House Square, Mama Road, Jhenda Square, Laxminarayan Temple area, Shankarnagar, Bajajnagar, Laxminagar, Abhyankar Nagar, VNIT Gate, and LAD College Square, before concluding back at Ramnagar.
Due to the масштаб of the procession, the traffic department has planned diversions across multiple routes. Vehicles coming from key junctions will be redirected via alternative routes, with some roads partially regulated using left/right diversions, while others may be temporarily closed.
Strict traffic control will be enforced in high-density areas such as Shankarnagar, Cafe House Square, Bajajnagar, Laxminagar, and Abhyankar Nagar.
Additionally, all roads along the procession route will be declared “No Parking Zones” from 3:00 PM onwards on March 26 until the procession concludes. Authorities have warned that vehicles violating parking rules will face strict action.
Traffic police officials have also been granted authority to make real-time route changes depending on the situation. Public announcements through loudspeakers, local newspapers, and notice boards will be used to keep citizens informed and minimize inconvenience.
Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Lohit Matani has urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
