Aster DM Healthcare Expands Whitefield Facility with ₹96 Crore Investment; 539 Beds Planned, ETHealthworld

Bengaluru: Aster DM Healthcare has invested Rs 96 crore to expand its women and children facility at Aster Whitefield Hospital in Bengaluru.

With the expansion, the hospital’s bed capacity will increase from 380 to 539, the company said in a statement.

The expanded facility was inaugurated by minister of health and family welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao and speaker of the state legislative assembly UT Khader.

The dedicated 159-bed Aster Women and Children facility will offer specialised maternity care spanning the preconception stage to childbirth.

“Such initiatives not only enhance access to quality care for mothers and children but also contribute significantly to improving maternal and child health outcomes. Strengthening specialised healthcare infrastructure through such efforts supports the broader goal of building a healthier and more resilient society,” Rao said in the statement.

The facility will offer services including water birthing, advanced laparoscopic gynaecology services, a child development centre, a foetal medicine and surgery unit, a high-tech neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a fertility centre, neonatal and paediatric surgical services, a paediatric intensive care unit as well as a high dependency unit (HDU), the statement added.

“As demand for high-quality maternal and pediatric care grows, it is essential to scale both capacity and capabilities,” said Azad Moopen, founder of Aster DM Healthcare.

“The expansion of our Women and Children facility at Whitefield reflects our commitment to advanced infrastructure and specialised expertise, ensuring comprehensive, end-to-end care for mothers and children under one roof,” he added.

The move comes as the hospital chain expands its presence in the city. The Whitefield expansion, along with the upcoming 500-bed Yeshwantpur hospital and the 430-bed Sarjapur facility, builds on Aster’s commitment to advancing healthcare in Bengaluru, the statement said.

With these additions, Aster’s total capacity in Karnataka will increase to 2,573 beds, strengthening its regional footprint and reinforcing its position among the top three private healthcare providers in the state.
