CBI Conducts Raids in Nagpur, Chandrapur in NEET Paper Leak Probe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the nationwide NEET paper leak case by conducting searches at the residences of three students, including two from Nagpur and one from Brahmapuri taluka in Chandrapur district.

According to reports, the Economic Offences Wing of the CBI’s New Delhi unit has registered a case in connection with the leak of the NEET Biology and Chemistry question papers.

Earlier, the agency had arrested Prof. Shivraj Motegaonkar, director of the “RCC Classes” coaching institute in Latur, in connection with the case.

During the investigation, the CBI reportedly received information regarding the hall ticket numbers of certain students from Nagpur. Based on these inputs, teams from New Delhi, with assistance from local officials, carried out search operations in Nagpur and Chandrapur.

The agency seized documents and notices from the students’ residences and is examining whether there is any connection between those materials and the leaked question papers.

Sources said the CBI suspects that nearly 1,000 students across the country may have purchased the leaked paper. The agency is currently investigating whether the three students had obtained the leaked paper and whether it was circulated further to others.

However, officials clarified that Nagpur is not being viewed as the centre of the paper leak operation, and the searches are part of a wider nationwide investigation being carried out at multiple locations.
