Handover of Nagpur Airport to GMR: VED felicitates Nitin Gadkari

The office-bearers of Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED) on Saturday felicitated Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in recognition of the minister’s significant role in accelerating the modernization proposal of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport.
On the occasion, Rina Sinha, VED President, gave an appreciation letter to Gadkari highlighting the his contribution to the cause. Founder President of VED Govinda Daga; Vice President Pankaj Mahajan and Executive Member Navin Malewar were present on the occasion.
“On behalf of the Vidarbha Economic Development Council and the entire region, we express our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for your extraordinary vision, relentless pursuit, and unwavering support over the last three decades. Today, the final step to truly letting MIHAN fly has been taken.

 

The formal handover of the Nagpur Airport to GMR is an epoch-making moment that will open wide the doors to the global world for Vidarbha,” Sinha said.
Sinha further mentioned in her appreciation letter that VED is confident that GMR will now accelerate this transformational project and establish a world-class International Passenger and Cargo Airport at Nagpur, realizing the true multi-modal potential of the region. “This is, quite literally, a dream come true for VED and every single citizen of Vidarbha,” she added.
Recently Gadkari had strongly advocated before the Central Government for the modernization of the airport, which is considered crucial for developing Nagpur into a major aviation, logistics and industrial hub of Central India.
