Bandi urges BJP workers to not believe allegations
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on Sunday appealed to BJP workers and supporters not to believe the allegations levelled against him and his family, asserting that he would never indulge in any act that could bring disrepute to the party.
Mr. Sanjay’s remarks come amid demands by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for his removal from the Union Cabinet over allegations that he had ‘attempted to pressure’ the complainant in a case registered against his son under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Hyderabad.
Addressing BJP cadres at a public meeting held at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, Mr. Sanjay said he would fight those trying to tarnish his image and maintained that he would not be intimidated by “attacks or conspiracies”.
Calling upon party workers to remain united, he said the BJP’s next political target after its victory in West Bengal was Telangana and expressed confidence that the party would come to power in the State.
Reaffirming to his ideological background, Mr. Sanjay said he had grown up in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) tradition and would continue to work for the country and religion.
He also launched an attack on the ruling Congress government in Telangana and the BRS, alleging that both parties were losing political ground due to the BJP’s growing influence in the State.
