Netflix & Chill Café Busted in Nagpur Hookah Raid


Nagpur: Under the ongoing “Operation Thunder” crackdown, Nagpur Police conducted a late-night raid on an alleged illegal hookah parlour operating under the cover of a café in the Manav Nagar area.

The action was carried out at “Netflix and Chill Café” near Rangla Punjab Restaurant during the intervening night of May 9 and 10 under the guidance of Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal.

Police found accused Sohail Khan Firoz Khan (22), a waiter, and 19 customers present at the premises during the raid. Officials alleged that tobacco-based hookah products harmful to health were being served illegally to customers.

During the operation, police seized hookah pots, flavours, smoking equipment, refrigerators, freezers, tables, chairs and other materials collectively valued at ₹82,995.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) 2003, the Maharashtra Police Act, and Section 272 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.

Police said the crackdown on illegal hookah parlours across Nagpur will continue with intensified action in the coming days.
