Blood-soaked body of murdered teen found in Kalamna field

Nagpur: In a chilling late-night crime that has sent shockwaves across Nagpur, a 17-year-old boy was brutally murdered and his blood-soaked body dumped in a deserted field in the Vajpayee Nagar area under the Kalamna police limits. The shocking twist, the victim was allegedly lured to the spot through Instagram, turning a virtual connection into a real-life nightmare.

The deceased has been identified as Joharan Mushtaq Sheikh (17). According to police and family members, Joharan had stepped out of his house after informing his mother that he would return shortly. But as the hours passed, anxiety gripped the household.

His mother, Sonia Mustafa Sheikh, grew increasingly worried after 10 pm when he failed to return. A frantic search began with the help of neighbours. What they discovered soon after was horrifying, Joharan’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood in an isolated field.

Police sources described the scene as “gruesome,” with blood splattered around the body, indicating a violent assault. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Joharan had received a call shortly before his death, not from a regular number, but allegedly through an Instagram account.

In a shocking development, police have detained a 17-year-old minor from the Yashodhara Nagar area in connection with the murder. Initial findings suggest that a dispute linked to a girl may have triggered the fatal attack, exposing how a seemingly trivial online interaction spiralled into a deadly confrontation.

A case of murder has been registered based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, and the accused minor is currently in custody. Police are examining call records, social media activity, and all possible angles to piece together the sequence of events.

The incident raises disturbing questions about the dark side of social media influence among teenagers. What began as an online interaction appears to have ended in cold-blooded murder, a grim reminder of how digital relationships can sometimes take dangerous turns.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family is inconsolable, struggling to come to terms with the brutal loss. As the investigation unfolds, the city watches in disbelief, shaken by yet another crime where youth, technology, and violence have collided with tragic consequences.
