Hyderabadis receive test alert messages on May 2 as nationwide test rolls out

People in Telangana began to receive test alert messages on their devices on Saturday (May 2, 2026) as part of National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) ‘Pan-India Cell Broadcast Alert System’ across the State along with other parts of the country.  

The message read, “India, launches Cell Broadcast using indigenous technology, for instant disaster alerting service for its citizens. Alert citizens, safe nation. No action is required by the public upon receipt of this message. This is a test message. – Government of India.”
