Elderly woman stabbed by tea stall owner in Tehsil, accused arrested

Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old woman selling clothes on a footpath was attacked with a knife in the Tehsil police station area. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
The victim, Kaushalya Waman Bhisikar, has been earning her livelihood for nearly two decades by selling children’s clothes near the entrance of Mayo Hospital.
On Tuesday morning, the accused, identified as Manoj Chhotelal Samudre, who runs a nearby tea stall, allegedly approached the woman and threatened her not to set up her stall.
The argument quickly escalated, and in a fit of rage, the accused reportedly abused her and attacked her with a vegetable-cutting knife, leaving her injured. He fled the scene immediately after the assault.
With the help of locals, the injured woman was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Based on her complaint, police registered a case and later arrested the accused.
