Death Threat to Nitin Gadkari Sparks Action in Nagpur; Accused Arrested

Nagpur: A serious case has come to light in Nagpur where inflammatory and objectionable content was circulated on social media, allegedly threatening the life of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Based on a complaint, Dhantoli Police have registered a case and arrested the accused.
According to police sources, two videos were uploaded from a Facebook account. In one of the videos, the accused allegedly issued death threats to Nitin Gadkari and his family members while also making derogatory and misleading statements against them. In another video, the accused is said to have attempted to incite hostility between two communities, raising concerns over disturbance of public peace.
The complaint in this matter was filed by Sumit Kumar Chauhan, National President of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha. He came across the videos on Facebook and Instagram during his visit to Nagpur on April 4, after which he approached Dhantoli Police Station and lodged a complaint.
Acting swiftly, the police identified the accused as Ayush Agrawal and took him into custody. He is a resident of Mahalaxmi Nagar in the Hudkeshwar area.
Police have registered offences against the accused under charges including criminal intimidation, promoting enmity between communities, spreading rumours to disturb public peace, and defamation. Further investigation is underway.
